Project Planning & Management
Engineering Coordination
Our Project Manager ensures seamless coordination between the PMC and engineering teams, preventing design deviations, quality lapses, and delays. We confirm the use of required tools and adherence to approved designs. Weekly status updates on approved drawings and revisions ensure that construction and procurement proceed according to the latest designs and project delivery requirements.
Implementation Planning
We begin with a preliminary project assessment to define objectives, constraints, assumptions, and scope, optimizing work and eliminating unnecessary steps for faster approval. We ensure the schedule aligns with construction-led planning to meet deadlines. Alongside monitoring progress, we support the client with look-ahead plans, progress reports, and risk mitigation strategies, collaborating closely with the Business Management team to address potential risks and offer acceleration strategies when necessary.
Quality Management
Quality is vital to ensure longevity and minimal maintenance of project components. Our expertise in executing multi-gigawatt solar projects includes:
Inspection Prior to Dispatch: We inspect key components at production facilities, testing and analyzing results in accordance with the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP). Components such as PV structures, transformers, panels, and cables are checked for compliance.
On-Site Quality Assurance: We inspect materials upon arrival, verifying they meet MDCC specifications, and prepare inspection reports.
Construction Quality: Quality engineers ensure all site work aligns with SOPs, Field Quality Plans, and approved checklists. Visual inspections and quality reports are generated for material approval.
Procurement Assistance
We develop a strategic procurement plan to acquire project resources efficiently, supporting the client with vendor selection and resource competency mapping. Our services include drafting RFPs, creating technical specifications, attending technical discussions, reviewing vendors’ quality assurance plans, and advising on payment terms. We monitor procurement progress, track purchase orders, and ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards. Monthly tracking reports are created for material deliveries, and final reconciliation of materials is managed in accordance with the EPC/Services contract.
Project Documentation
We provide the site team with checklists for all planned tasks and maintain records of completed checklists, inspections, nonconformity reports (NCR), and site observation reports (SOR) for documentation and future reference. Each activity is documented and approved by the PMC team, which provides feedback and suggestions. The EPC Contractor and Client have access to the project directory’s external work drive for easy and consistent access to project data, based on the client’s service requirements.
Construction Management
KK’s construction management team, composed of professional engineers, ensures the project’s construction plan aligns with the overall timeline, adhering to industry standards and SOPs. They resolve construction issues, ensuring compliance with design specifications and method statements. The team monitors EPC contractor progress, holds regular meetings to address risks, and updates the risk register. They implement corrective actions as needed, ensuring quality management criteria are met and project timelines stay on track.
Plant Testing & Commessioning Support
KK designates a dedicated commissioning manager, in collaboration with the project quality team, to oversee commissioning and testing during the final stage of construction. The manager ensures all systems and tasks follow the correct procedures by reviewing pre-commissioning checklists and test records and certifying contractor-provided test reports. Working with the owner and contractor, the manager coordinates the plant’s testing and commissioning, including the substation, to meet project specifications and achieve optimal performance.
Plant Acceptance
In order to give the developer/client the opportunity to formally accept the asset and work area, along with all relevant information from the contractor, for future plant operation, KK conducts this formal process at the conclusion of a project. A punch list report will highlight the unfinished work as well as any deviations from the project specifications and conventional industrial practices during the construction process. This will make it easier for the EPC contractor to understand the project’s criteria, guaranteeing that all of them are fulfilled and the project’s quality is upheld. Before the plant is finally turned over to the operation and maintenance team, help the site team with project closure paperwork. Plan and direct the project to the service handover process in compliance with the established procedure.
